Can I replace a single suitcase wheel?

Yes, for most cases from well-known manufacturers. A single broken wheel is one of the most common luggage repairs, and it’s rarely necessary to replace the whole case over one damaged wheel — most manufacturers, including Samsonite and American Tourister, sell individual replacement wheels for their major ranges.

Attachment is usually straightforward: a single screw or a snap-in mount, both accessible without specialist tools. The main challenge is identifying the exact correct part, since wheel mounts vary between ranges and sometimes between production years of the same range.

Note the case’s full model number — usually on a plate or sticker inside the lining — before ordering, rather than searching by brand alone. A wheel that looks visually identical in a product photo can be the wrong fit if it’s for a different range or a different generation of the same case.

Check with your airline and read the label before you follow anything here. Lithium battery watt-hour limits, liquids allowances and lock policies differ by carrier and by country, and change over time — the figures published by the airline or security authority you are actually traveling with take precedence over anything written on this site. A power bank or spare battery is carried exactly as its manufacturer and your airline specify, never estimated. We report what is published — a watt-hour rating, a size limit, a lock's official recognition — and this site describes the equipment only: nothing here is a guarantee about what a specific checkpoint will allow on a specific day.
